East Africa
East Africa is movement made visible. Grasslands, acacia woodland, river crossings, Rift Valley edges, and dry northern rangelands give animals room to be read at distance. Elephant herds, cheetahs, zebras, wildebeest, lions, and wild dogs all carry the logic of open country in their bodies.
This is the region that first teaches many people how dramatic African wildlife can be, but the point is not spectacle alone. The open plains are systems of pressure and timing: migration, pursuit, drought, water, vigilance, and the fragile pauses between them.
